Why am I still bearish, when there has been good news on some housing fronts?

This graph sums it up. See the very slight downward tick at the end of the graph? THAT is all of the “improvement” in the foreclosure crisis we have seen so far. Obviously, with so many loans delinquent, we are going to see high foreclosure rates for years to come, despite the current slowdown due to procedural issues.

    Have you been following foreclosuregate? This is NOT just about paperwork. There is reason to believe that more than a few mortgages contained in REMICs don’t meet the underwriting criteria stated in the offering. In other words, FRAUD by the banks, which just “happens” to coincide with missing paperwork. This could end REALLY badly.
